Summer Reading Program 2009

Students are expected to participate in the school’s Summer Reading program, and have some fun finding all the treasure and adventure in books. Here are the details:

  1. Each grade will be have 1 required book that all students will read.  In addition, students will be expected to read additional books (the number of books depends on the grade your student is entering).

  2. At least one book read should have Judaic content.

  3. Students will complete a reading log for all the books read this summer.

  4. Students will also complete a project on 1 of their books and a book report on a 2nd book. Details about projects, book report forms, reading logs and suggested book lists are linked from the bottom of this page. Just click on the class your student is entering in the fall.

  5. Projects, book reports and reading logs will be due back at school the first week of school in September 2009.

  6. Students may choose their reading books from the grade-level lists included in each class packet (click on class links below). Students may also choose books that are not on this list but are age-appropriate. All books should be age-appropriate and parent-approved. Consider books about places you may be visiting this summer, as well as books that match your child’s interests and hobbies
